Selecting a Utah RV Storage Unit

When seeking a Utah storage facility for your RV, you have two choices: (1) store your RV inside a storage unit (2) store your RV outside in a parking space designated by the storage facility. Prices between these two types of RV storage vary greatly so it’s important to know what your needs are before you rent an RV storage space.

Outdoor RV Storage Many people select an outdoor storage space for their RV because of the lower monthly price and convenience. Outdoor storage for your recreational vehicle might make sense if:

• You plan on storing the RV for a short time
• You plan on storing the RV intermittently
• Wear and tear resulting from being exposed to Utah's harsh climate isn’t a big concern
• The vehicle is very large and won’t fit in most indoor storage units (i.e. only select storage facilities have spaces large enough for Type A Motorhomes).

Indoor RV Storage
Some people select a indoor storage unit for their RV for increased security and protection. Indoor storage for your vehicle might make sense if:

• Exposing the RV to weather patterns in Utah (snow, hail, heavy rain, dust storms, etc.) will cause damage (vehicles with leaky roofs, missing hoods/doors, etc.)
• RVs with high book or personal value
• RVs with high theft risk (visibility of outside vehicle storage may promote theft)
• RVs that are small or very portable (small towable RVs etc.)

In conclusion, taking a little time to select the right type of storage for your RV can save you a lot of trouble down the road.
